E-Portfolio

Hey, how’s everybody?

Today I worked in the morning, and then came back home in time to conclude one of my assignments. I am current working in my own E-Portfolio, in a subject called International Business Challenge.

We were required to build a good e-portfolio, showing many aspects of our academic, personal and professional life, including evidences, career plan and SWOT analysis. This assessment is being very good for me to understand my own strengths and opportunities, but also learn from my weakness and predict any threats that may arise in my career.

Another good outcome from this task is that I started to ask myself things like “where I want to be in 10 years?” and “what steps should I take to achieve my short term and long term goals?”

You see, it’s never too early to project and take actions about your future, because we never ever know what obstacles we will have in life. Of course almost everybody wants to be very rich, successful and happy in social life and professional life. But in fact, how many people actually plan ahead? This is the point.. And I guess this International Business Challenge assessment is helping me to realize I must start taking some steps… but I will talk more about them in a later post, I promise!

See you!

Updates…

Hello everybody!

After 3 days of inactivity due to a quick trip do Jervis Bay, here I am again. Ready to one of the most important weeks of the year!!

Week 6 is coming and this will be a special one, because it’s the due date of assessments of all the subjects of the term. Which means, 4 big tasks to be done in less than 10 days!!! But being on top of that is not very difficult, if planned ahead. If you are working on it since week 2, for example, you got more than a month to finish everything, which is quite a fair amount of time.

I am sure almost all courses on all good institutions are tough sometimes, but you can always plan ahead and make a efficient schedule to be on time. In VU this is not different, and we may feel a little bit overwhelmed with all work to be done… but we have time to do it!

Studying a Bachelor in Australia is not easy, and you always have researches to do, no matter which subject you are enrolled into. But I guess this is good because our professional life is basically the same, isn’t it? Many due dates, deadlines, deep researches and group work will be required from us.

We’re on to week 6!

Happy Easter!!!

Hey everybody! We are starting Easter weekend with the Good Friday. Yesterday I had a busy day researching about Systems Design and finishing the assessment, but I still have some details to include in the final presentation. Maybe next week I conclude them.

After almost 6 hours of unstoppable research and work yesterday, I decided to take this Friday off. That’s a good opportunity to go to Bondi Beach and play some football. In fact, this is my last day off until VU’s holidays in July. I still have plenty of work to do in this term, so I am sure I will be learning a lot these next weeks.

That’s the benefit of studying in a first-class University!

Beginning of semester = assessments all the way

Today I am going to focus on two assessments for VU Sydney. All the assessments in the Uni are quite deep, requiring research and lots of reading.

Comparing to assessments I’ve done in my Law school in Brazil, or even in my Bachelor in Barcelona, I would say VU has the most difficult ones. But it is rewarding because each single work gives you lots of knowledge and in a deeper way. When you finish you can say you really know about the topic.

Also I think VU really prepares us for the work environment, in business and companies in general. You feel prepared for many different situations that might arise in your professional life. Today will be a good day to read and research about Integrated Marketing Communications and portfolios.
